Blair Wellness Team
Matthew Blair Founder
Mr. Blair is the founder, CEO, and sole owner of Blair Wellness Center, LLC (BWC). He is a seasoned entrepreneur with a combined 20 years of experience in the medical device and retail pharmacy industries.
Mr. Blair earned his B.S. in chemistry from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington and began his career as analytical chemist in an environmental chemistry lab. Mr. Blair entered the field of medical device sales where he worked for 10 years with some of the world’s largest medical device manufacturers. As a top medical sales and marketing professional, Mr. Blair educated and trained physicians and patients on emerging medical technologies.
Eventually, Mr. Blair used his sales and business experience to establish a network of medical and pharmaceutical sales representatives across numerous states which specialized primarily in the treatment of pain. He then contracted with several compound pharmacies which distributed compounded pain medications and sterile injectables over the United States. This combination of an experienced sales force and association with compound pharmacies led Mr. Blair to form his own pharmaceutical company, Blair Pharmacy, Inc., a Maryland retail pharmacy which specialized in the preparation and distribution of compounded pain medications nationwide.
His vast experience with pain medications led Mr. Blair to gravitate to the medical cannabis industry upon its legalization in Maryland. Blair Wellness Center, LLC was formed by Mr. Blair in November 2015, to pursue licensure as a medical cannabis processor and dispensary. Based upon the success of Mr. Blair’s previous businesses and his vast experience in the treatment of pain and other debilitating conditions, BWC was awarded two medical cannabis licenses in Maryland. In a very competitive application process, Mr. Blair was ranked 5th out of approximately 130 medical cannabis processor applicants from around the country and awarded one of only 15 processor licenses in the State. He has devoted his time and energy since forming BWC to acquiring and renovating the building housing his dispensary into the most attractive and functional facility of its type in Maryland; establishing relationships with the finest medical cannabis growers and processors in the State and creating the most experienced and knowledgeable team of professionals in the industry to serve the needs of patients presenting with conditions that can be treated with the highest quality of medical cannabis.
